Story
I'm abseiling down the ArcelorMittal Orbit, the UK's largest sculpture, in aid of St Mungo's, a fantastic charity who have a mission of ending homelessness and rebuilding lives.
Since 2008, nearly £1bn has been cut from what councils spend on homelessness services every year. Poverty can make people vulnerable to homelessness and this has sadly been on the rise due to the pandemic, Brexit and the recession.
St Mungo's offer vital support to those in need and have an ultimate ambition to end rough sleeping in England. I want to help support this incredible goal by dangling 80 meters (about 262 feet) above the ground and abseiling down the ArcelorMittal Orbit on Friday 29th October.
To say I'm nervous would be quite the understatement (I'll admit I didn't look up how high it was before signing up...) but the vertigo will be well worth it if I can help the brilliant work of this amazing charity.
So this is where you come in! Any donation would be hugely appreciated and will absolutely make a difference, even if it's just the amount you'd spend on your morning flat white. All the money I raise will go directly to St Mungo's and will help to fund their vital work.
So go on, dig into those pockets, get donating and watch me do probably one of the maddest things I've ever done, all in the name of a great cause!
