Story
On the 23rd of February 2023 my beautiful nephew Flynn passed away at Sheffield children’s hospital.
At just 21 months old, Flynn put up such a brave fight for 5 days after his breathing support was removed.
In this time our family stayed with Flynn for the duration. If we needed too, we had the facilities to sleep, shower, cook, wash and dry our clothes, no more than 2 minutes away from Flynn’s bedside.
All thanks to ‘The sick children’s trust’ ‘Homes from Home’ a charity we had never heard of before. The average cost for one night per family is £40 per night, at no cost to any of the families.
The sad reality is, I realised was how naive I was to it all, we all know it sadly happens, but we don’t expect it to happen so close to home. The rooms were full, which meant so many families were experiencing their own journey with their children.
I’d like to raise money for ‘The sick children’s trust’ in Flynn’s memory on behalf of both sides of the family, by taking part in a sky dive on the 3rd of June 2023.
I hope the money raised will help make future families as comfortable as we possibly can, because it makes such a difference on the hardest days 💔
Any donation will mean the absolute world to our family.
