Story
On Saturday 30 July 2022, a daredevil team of Kyson staff, aka the "Kyson Knockers", will be taking on the extreme abseil and descending the 135 foot (41 metres) high maternity block at Ipswich hospital.
We are doing this in aid of The Blossom Appeal at Ipswich Hospital. We are asking for your support to help raise the final £500,000 to make the appeal's dream of a new Breast Centre at Ipswich Hospital a reality.
The Blossom Appeal was launched in November 2017 in a bid to raise funds to build a modern Breast Care Centre where state-of-the-art care can be delivered to all their patients. Despite the Covid pandemic getting in the way, more than £5.7million has already been secured towards the overall cost through donations to The Blossom Appeal and NHS funding.
Building work has already started on the new £6.2 million centre but the appeal needs a little more help raising the few pennies to ensure that the new centre opens later in 2022.
Lots of Kyson staff took part in, and raised lots of money for, the Superheroes Zip Wire event for The Blossom Appeal in May 2018. Breast cancer has unfortunately impacted the lives of many of us at Kyson and by supporting us in the abseil event, you will be helping to ensure that breast cancer patients continue to receive the exceptionally high standards of care the hospital already provides, but in an environment to match.
The Kyson Knockers (.)(.) team line up is as follows; Laura D, Elaine, Janine, Hayley, Lucy, Laura G, Chloe, Debbie, Jane, Miaya, Amy, Tom and Christy.
Don't forget, if you are a UK taxpayer, you can gift aid your contribution and the charity will receive an extra 25p for every £1 you donate!
THANK YOU (.)(.) xxx
