Story
As some of you will know, our much loved colleague and friend, Dr George Ballard, died in a cycling accident this August.
Tomorrow would have been his 42nd birthday.
George is remembered for his great wit, terrible manners, 'alternative' dress sense (including a lovely yellow tanktop) and bad singing........but also for being a wonderful husband and father, and a dedicated doctor looking after children and adults born with heart defects.
In order to celebrate his life, the department is doing a 'wear a yellow jumper' to work day tomorrow, and donating money to a cause which was dear to his heart, the Childrens Heart Surgery Fund, a charity based in Leeds that provides much needed medical equipment (amongst other things) to the Congenital Heart Disease unit.
