We provide vital mental health support to improve lives in Bwindi, Uganda

Story

Throwing ourselves out of a plane to raise money for vital mental health resources in Uganda, via The Diversity Foundation UK.

Mid-life crisis? Probably. Amazing cause? Absolutely!

2020 may have delayed the skydiving plans, but that doesn't mean we're going to back out now! Neil Gannon and I will be jumping out of a plane on 14th April 2022 to raise money for our mental health charity, The Diversity Foundation.

Not only will you get to see us hurtling through the sky, you'll also be contributing to a fantastic cause which provides vital mental health support to rural Uganda.

Any donations, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated!

Note from Laura:
Having suffered with acute PTSD in the past due to my little boy being in a sudden coma, the support, guidance and resource available to us via the amazing NHS, enabled us both to make a full recovery, for which I will always be grateful. We have seen the decline in mental health across the whole of the world during the past two years. Luckily, we live in a country that (although currently stretched to capacity) recognises and provides effective, structured recovery plans for all aspects of mental health and mental illness. Uganda has the absolute bare minimum.

In Uganda, mental health issues are ignored due to lack of education and resource. Men, women and children are really suffering and there is no eventual light at the end of the tunnel. What would you do if this was you?

Please consider a small donation and/or sharing this on your social media. It would be a great help!

Note from Neil:
We've all suffered in some way shape or form through this horrendous pandemic, but sometimes it is easy to forget that there are some villages, some towns, and even some countries that have suffered in the same way that we have, but don't have the medical technology, the support or the infrastructure to be able to cope.

If the small matter of jumping out of a plane and landing with all bones still in tact is all it is going to take to raise awareness and to help those who are less fortunate than us to be able to cope, not just physically but mentally, with the harsh truths of modern day reality, then pass me the parachute!
