Story
Hi, my name is Laszlo.
I’m a husband to an amazing wife and a father to three
beautiful children.
When I’m not at their beck and call, I’m a UK paramedic and
an avid road cyclist.
I was rather apprehensive but also very excited when I was
asked if I was interested in taking up the challenge to ride 867 miles (1388km)
from John O’Groats, Scotland to Land’s End in England… The entire length of the
United Kingdom!!!
The challenge to cycle more than a 100 miles on average, 8
days in a row is daunting. Not to mention the “reliable UK weather”! I guess
it’s called a challenge for a reason, right?
You might ask why am I doing it? Besides the love of
cycling? Most people wouldn’t even drive that far, let alone be crazy enough to
try and cycle it!
The biggest reason I’m doing this is to raise money for the
incredible cause that is ‘BeFree’. BeFree is an ELIM missions charity which
have an extraordinary task helping victims of human exploitation.
Modern day slavery is the severe, illegal exploitation of
people for personal or commercial gain.
Did you know?
An estimated 40 million people are affected across the
world, more than three times as much as the approximately 13 million slaves
captured and sold during the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.
10 million of those are children, and 71% of all victims are
women and children.
I’m hoping to raise money to help some of those women and
young children that are stuck in a perpetual cycle of sexual exploitation
and forced labour.
BeFree has helped over 40 ladies successfully break out of
that cycle and not return to the sex industry.
So…. if you feel that you have few pounds going spare then
all I ask is that you sponsor me and help to change someone’s life forever.
Use your privilege to make a difference.
Thank you.
