I'm standing down in June 2016 after 20 years as chairman of the Ebac Northern League and 30 years active involvement. As a token of gratitude for all that's happened, I plan a 500-mile charitable walk

Basically, this will comprise 44 pre-match walks of 12-or-so miles to each of our 44 grounds. I'll be 70 in 2016 and it's not going to be easy, especially given the North-East weather.

The initial target is £10,000, though I hope for more. Approximately half will go to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, via this page, the other half - through cheques and cash donations - to community charities nominated by our clubs.
