Our Refuge has been a safe space for women and children who are fleeing domestic abuse for over 20 years. In average we support 48 women and over 70 children in a year to move away from risk , recover the trauma and rebuild new homes. Our rooms are furnished in a way to make people feel they are in a home, we believe this is really important for the children's well being. Pregnancy and increase of risk to life forces some mothers to be to leave their homes behind and and some babies that start their lives in our Refuge. Our unit's furniture, bed, mattresses, drawers, curtains and white goods are part of many families lives and they break and get old and need replacing often. We don't receive ANY funding for update and upkeep of the Refuge and we really need your help to be able to continue provide a safe and home like space for the victims.
