Story

"De nada, Senhor Joaquim"

This is a phrase that my husband, Kevin picked up from the outstanding Portuguese  medical professionals and airport staff that were instrumental in repatriating Dad to the UK. It means "You're welcome, Mr Joaquim".

On 16 September 2018, my sister Julia and I will be attempting  our first half marathon and Kevin and Danielle will be tackling the full marathon distance. We sadly lost our father, friend and uncle last year to PSP (a degenerative neurological disorder). We are running to raise money for Sam Beare Hospice who supported us through a really difficult time both at home and then provided a safe and beautiful environment for our father and us in his final days. The work they do is incredible and only a  small percentage of the hospice's funding comes from the government so they rely heavily on voluntary income.

It's now our chance to say thank you to Sam Beare and echo the sentiment  of "De nada" - that nothing is too much and there is value in everything we do.  Thank you for supporting us and know that you are supporting a very worthy cause with your donation.
