On September 24th, against my better judgement I am taking on Shine, the marathon night walk, to help Cancer Research UK fund their life-saving work.

This ludicrous endeavour involves walking 26.2 miles overnight, through the mean streets of London, along side thousands of other fundraisers who were talked into signing up by their eager colleagues on a sunny summer’s day earlier this year.

There are three members in my walking team and each of us has been touched by the terrible effects of this horrific disease and we are asking you, our friends and colleagues, to help us smash our target.

Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there.
