Lara Montgomery and Sarah Pupkis are raising money for MacMillan. 

Lara was diagnosed with stage 3 womb cancer in 2019. Lara contacted MacMillan when she needed support and help when it came to telling her children. Lara is now in remission but tragically, a year after her diagnosis, her wife Theresa suffered two strokes and was subsequently diagnosed with incurable blood cancer. Both Theresa and Lara struggled to access cancer treatments and after care during Covid and MacMillan supported them by helping and fighting to get better access. This fight was not just for them, it was also for the thousands of other cancer patients who lost access to their life saving/prolonging treatments. MacMillan, not only provide support to cancer patients and their families, they also fight for the rights of patients, something they were not aware of until they needed support and when no one else helped MacMillan did. 

In March 2023 Sarah’s mother-in-law, June Ballard, sadly lost her battle with cancer. June, like so many others, was supported by MacMillan nurses. 

We are completing this challenge for all our friends and family who have had to fight cancer.
