The reason i am doing this Abseil is to raise money for the Milly Moo right now foundation. This below is their story:

13th December 2009

Amelia having fun

Our precious 3 year old daughter, Amelia, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukeamia (AML).  Our world suddenly fell apart.  We were expecting in 4 week’s time the arrival of our second baby, a boy later to be named Jimmy, and were looking forward to being the family we had always hoped.  Knowing next to nothing about the disease we hoped and prayed that she would get better.
Despite the terrific treatment Amelia received at various hospitals and unmeasurable support from friends and family Amelia sadly passed away on 7th May 2010 aged 3 and a half.  She had put up a terrific battle against the disease, and whilst receiving a bone marrow transplant to give her the best long term chances she contracted various infections which led to her untimely passing.

Amelia's 3rd birthday

Amelia was a caring, intelligent bright and fun loving girl who will be sadly missed by all who knew her, particuarly us as parents.  We are convinced she wanted to stay alive to see her younger brother be born, which she managed to do.

The Milly Moo Right Now Foundation

This charity has been set up in her memory to provide support and assistance to those diagnosed with Leukeamia.  We have several aims:

  • to raise monies to provide a holiday home to be used by patients and their families during or after periods of treatment
  • to raise vital funds to assist in the research and hopeful cure of Leukeamia.
  •  We are looking initially to raise £40,000 to buy the holiday home.

So we ask you to donate what you can in memory of our daughter and to all future children and parents that may have a similar story to tell.

Thanks you to everyone who has so far taken the time to look at our website.
