Story
Every day of the year our Rescuers come across situations like these, where female dogs, either pregnant, or just had their pups, are callously abandoned, left to fend for themselves in the most horrifying, desperate situations.
Can you imagine what it is like to be a new Mum, used to the relative security of the yard you lived in and the people your trusted, to be thrown out, to try and survive and keep your babies alive?
Parvo, distemper, heartworm and every other deadly illness are out there waiting to infect them, bigger dogs will attack them for the meager scraps they have collected, the puppies die and Mums often starve to death trying to keep their babies alive.
The role of the spayathon is to attempt to stop these babies being born, to stop the female dogs from being abandoned, and if they are already street dogs to stop this cycle of perpetual suffering. We can't do this without your help, please consider making a donation however small. 10 donations of £3 would cover the cost of a female dog of a female dog being neutered.
