My name is Gerald, and I am Fluttering this year to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research. Fluttering will be going on for the entire month of September, so please help me continue this chain and help raise awareness with me! Once we know better, we can do better! 

It's incredible to believe that just 2 years ago I was receiving treatment for Burkitt's Lymphoma.  While in treatment I raised money for Blank Children's Child Life, and through amazing donations I raised over $12,000 (to see more about that please check out https://justgiving.com/fundraising/lapswithgerald).  Since completing treatment, I've been honored to be recognized as Kid Captain at an Iowa State football game and a men's basketball game.  I took a great trip sponsored by Make A Wish Iowa and Businessolver.  I've also met some great new friends who raise funds (https://www.facebook.com/thelemonaderace) and sponsor blood drives to help support kids like them, and myself, through tough times.  

Unravel is a 501(c)3 nonprofit working to bridge the gap in funding for pediatric cancer research. With the help of warrior families and their communities, Unravel raises awareness of the need for this research and the funds to support it. Unlike the typical grant funding model, Unravel gives unrestricted funds to innovative pediatric cancer researchers, which removes barriers and accelerates the development of more effective and less toxic treatments for children with cancer.
