Together we are the Critical Care Team at Arrowe Park Hospital and will be taking on the virtual Land’s End to John O’Groats challenge.

Our year has been dominated by COVID 19. We have faced the biggest challenge to hit the NHS in living memory. Our Team has cared for many patients, their families and each other during these testing times.

These times have been far from normal and we cannot forget each and every one of the patients we have cared for. We have come together as a team to deliver the best care possible in very difficult conditions. There have been some incredible success stories of patients who have recovered from this illness and our staff have been on hand
to clap all those that have left the critical care unit and congratulate them on their recovery. An incredible job has been done by all and our team is stronger and closer as a result of our experience.

Sadly, there is another side to COVID 19. There are patients who have not left critical care. There are families who have been kept apart due to restricted visiting. There are members of staff who have endured psychological problems resulting from the initial COVID surge.

The Critical Care team are united in taking on this challenge. We wanted to do something in memory of those that didn’t leave our critical care unit and aid our staff well-being.

We hope that you will support our effort to remember our patients and support our staff. All funds raised will go towards our Critical Care Fund which will provide improvements that will enhance patient experience.
