Story
As part of Maidenhead United's Football Club's 150th Anniversary, Justin and I are taking part in the 'Magpies 150 Challenge' and raising money for the benefit of 15 different charities from Maidenhead and Windsor.
We were due to run a marathon last year, but due to the covid-19 pandemic were unable to. So we have decided to channel our running elsewhere and take on the magpies 150 challenge where we will run to each of the 15 charity offices on Friday 21st May.
We have calculated this is approximately 19 miles!
Our objective to raise as much as we can and also raise awareness of each of these valuable charities and the work they do within the community.
Each of the charities provides vital services for the benefit of local people, often the most vulnerable, and they have all been impacted in different ways by the Covid-19 pandemic. Some have experienced overwhelming increases in the demand for their support and services over the last 12 months. Some have needed to develop new service delivery approaches. Others have had to reduce services or simply stop their service delivery.
All however are experiencing financial challenges due to loss of fundraising income or increased demand for services and some may even struggle to survive or maintain the provision of services without additional financial support.
If you feel able to sponsor that would be fantastic. All of the money we raise will be split equally between the 15 charities.
Thank you so much for your support.
