Creating a 4-bit CPU, 3 May 2022
We We give awards to enable young people to carry out challenging projects.

Story

The MEF Mk-λ will be a custom built 4-bit central processing unit on breadboards. It will feature a comprehensive instruction set comprised of the basic arithmetic and logical operations (such as addition, subtraction, conjunction and disjunction), as well as a number of instructions allowing for the support of user input manipulation, subroutine calling, iteration and much more.

We thank the Mark Evison Foundation for providing the funds necessary to take on this project. All donations received will go towards the MEF, allowing them to continue helping students across the country undertake similar super-curricular projects.
