Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
On July 28th (2020) I will be setting out to swim all the lakes in the Lake District in support of the clean drinking water charity Just a Drop. The swim challenge will cover 13 lakes and 71km (44 miles), starting with Lake Windemere on day 1 and finishing on Ullswater on day 3. I’m hoping to be the first person to complete this feat in three days.
Growing up I was a competitive swimmer and more recently I have kept up my swimming as a member of Sheffield University Triathlon Club. During the lockdown, swimming pools closed so I have had to switch my training to local rivers, lakes and the sea! I think the biggest challenge for the Lake District swim will be dealing with the cold water and potential rough conditions on the longer lakes.
I am swimming to raise awareness for Just a Drop. The swim is taking place in a region that provides millions of people in the UK with access to clean water for multiple purposes, however in other regions in the world there is neither the availability or infrastructure for just drinking water. Globally 1 in 10 people don’t have access to clean water. Just a Drop are working in over 30 countries to help improve clean water availability, introducing simple and sustainable water harvesting techniques in villages worldwide. I am hoping that this swim can help relieve some communities from water scarcity, providing a key resource for life.

Thanks for the support and I really appreciate any donations.
(Just to note we are aware of the situation in the Lake District with invasive algal species and we will be taking the necessary precautions to stop the spread of non native species #spreadthewordnottheweed)
