Story

Lakenham-Hewett Ladies Rugby Club is running, walking and cycling 100 miles to raise money for Leeway!

From 27th April, we’re challenging our team as a whole to run, walk and cycle a total of 100 miles in a week, using our daily exercise to support the local domestic abuse support charity Leeway.

With the increase in domestic violence during lockdown, Leeway’s work is now more important than ever. As a community rugby team that’s proud to call Norwich home, Lakenham Lionesses are honoured to support Leeway.

Leeway says “Your fundraising can make a huge difference to the lives of those affected by domestic abuse. Every penny raised, no matter how small, will help benefit those who need it most and change lives for the better.”

We’re proud to count medical, healthcare and other key workers as teammates. When they aren’t able to get outside to exercise, and to help reach our total while respecting the lockdown, we’ll be counting every 10 minutes of home exercise as another mile towards our total.
