Story
Lake District Hotels Ltd have now match funded £5000, to reach the orginal target goal of a combined total of £10,000. Thank you to everyone who has donated so generously this fundraiser is still open, please continue to donate for this important cause.
The Directors of the family owned Lake District Hotels, Charles and Kit Graves and Daniella Hope, would like to appeal to our guests, suppliers, employees, families, all of our friends and everybody else to help us raise money for the Ukrainian people.
Ever since we first heard the news that war had broken out in Ukraine, we have felt utterly heartbroken by the tragedy facing innocent Ukrainians every day and we have thought of ways of how best to help.
In light of this, we have made the decision to set up this Just Giving Page to support the British Red Cross. who are helping the millions of refugees that have been forced to flee their home country and support the basic humanitarian needs, which these people have been stripped of. We will match fund every £1 given with another £1, up to a combined sum of £10,000.
All money kindly donated will go directly to the British Red Cross Society to support those caught up in this conflict. We will donate a pound for every pound that you donate up to a combined total of £10.000 and in doing so, we hope to help bring this suffering to an end.
As Directors of a family-owned business, it is truly harrowing to hear the stories of families being separated from one another and people’s livelihoods being completely destroyed, which is why we wanted to act.
Each donation, no matter how small, goes toward food, water, first aid, medicines, warm clothes and shelter and could save a life.
