Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Kiya Survivors is a charity that works alongside local authorities in Peru to help abused children and children with special needs. They offer support in local schools and workplaces and encourage the integration of children born to be different so they can thrive in their communities and homes.
They currently work with approximately 1000 people annually and operate a number of projects in Peru: Therapy programmes and The Rainbow House in Urubamba (Cuzco), and the Mama Cocha projects in Los Organos (Mancora) in the north of the country. They run an Outreach Program from each area also, which provides VITAL support to families unable to get to the centres. Please follow our Facebook page and see the positive impact this charity has on young people’s lives . https://www.facebook.com/KiyaSurvivors/
In August 2020 we, as a team, will be going to Peru to build bathrooms for families identified as being in need and are hoping to raise enough money to buy at least 4 wheel chairs for young people who desperately need them. We will be supporting other young people that we will meet at the Mama Cocha centre through giving our time, love and attention.
We will be paying for all of our own building materials and travel costs personally, however, we want to raise funds for projects like the wheelchairs and we would love your support!
Founder and Director of the charity, and mother of two, Suzy Butler, has had an incredibly positive impact on the young lives of hundreds of children living in Peru without the care and basic needs that every child deserves and has the right to. https://kiyasurvivors.org/
We believe in the work of this charity . No child should live in fear of abuse and neglect or of being abandoned. All children should have healthy, nurturing, happy surroundings and homes and have their physical, emotional and educational needs met.
We want to help make this a meaningful and worthwhile, sustainable project, so please, please please dig deep and help support us to continue to give the children, who have had a difficult start in life a brighter future.
We will be holding a number of fund raising events throughout the year, as a team, through Almuñecar International School and also as individuals in the towns of Lanjarón, Competa and fundraising in the UK. With your support and generosity, together we can make a difference by buying wheelchairs as soon as possible.
