**Update!! 11/03/09
The trek was completed in November - will send you all pics and an account soon.
Yesterday an event was organised and over the past couple of days more and more people haev shown their unbelievable generousity.
Heartfelt thanks to you all from myself and GOSH Charity... TARGET ACHIEVED!!
You have all strengthened my faith in the world - there's a lot of good out there and I am lucky to have you all in my life!!
HOLA!!!
Very very soon in 2 -0 -0 -8 myself and a group of brave (but surely eccentric!) individuals are trekking 4200m to Machu Picchu in Peru in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC).
In order to treat 100,000 sick childen each year they have to raise a staggering £50 million annually. This year funding is particularly vital as they are building a cardiac wing where they will not only treat children in London but will treat many others globally via video-link up.
Before you dismiss this as a 'free holiday' the trip wil be funded by me and my closest people so be assured about where your money is going. I was very careful about the charity I chose to represent as well and nothing but a really vital cause would have me joining the gym and enduring the pain whilst getting the motivation to trek so high with no toilets, showers or beds!! (and if you know me you won't be able to believe I'm doing it!) AND I am even growing my new short hair out (though it pains me) coz I've been told there's nowhere to plug my straighteners in on the mountain! So it's either grow it or look like an 80's throwback..hmmm
If you don't like donating online just let me know - there are other ways!! I have to send half the money in a week or so and it's looking like I'm going to have to use my credit card .. save me from living in a cardboard box too!! Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) gets your money faster.
MUCHOS MUCHOS GRACIAS AMIGOS!!!!!
