Allen & Overy colleagues are aiming to raise £1,000,000 over two years to support their Global Charity Partner, Street Child.

Story

I am running a half marathon at the end of April to raise £1,500 for Street Child. All donations go straight to Street Child - thank you for your support!

Street Child is a global charity that works with local organisations to ensure every child has access to an education. Street Child has had a huge impact on the nation by setting up initiatives to educate children and support families, including vulnerable children in rural areas and teenage mothers. Over 100,000 rural children have enrolled in improved quality education as a result of Street Child.

When Street Child started in Sierra Leone in 2008, it was the poorest nation in the world. But even now, 36% of children do not finish primary school and 3 in 4 adults are illiterate.

Allen & Overy is aiming to raise £1,000,000 over two years to support their Global Charity Partner, Street Child. Half of these funds will help transform the life prospects of girls living in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone by revitalising 40 primary schools; enabling 1,500 girls to enrol into secondary school. The rest will help Street Child to ensure that every child, no matter where they live, is safe, in school, and learning.
