Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are planning to raise money through sponsorship of our walk for a local boy called Ryan. Ryan is a determined, bubbly 4 year-old from Keighley, West Yorkshire.
He arrived into this world nine weeks early and was diagnosed with
Cerebral Palsy at two and a half years old. This causes tightness in his legs making walking difficult, climbing the stairs even harder and running impossible.
There isn't a cure for Cerebral Palsy, but there is life changing surgery
called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) which Ryan has been accepted for. SDR is the only surgical procedure that will permanently reduce or eliminate the tightness that causes Ryan to stumble and fall on a daily basis. The operation, which involves cutting some of the damaged nerves in the lower spine, isn’t available on the NHS and so to give Ryan the best possible chance of independence Ryan’s parents are looking to raise £40,000.
