Story
My sister, Toria and I started our running journey in March 2017. We ran our first half marathon in Bedford in September 2017 and since then I’ve run 6 more half marathons. I am really excited to be finally running my first full marathon, the 2021 London Marathon along with my sister and brother-in-law. We were virtually there last March before it was cancelled and then trained again over the Summer in the hope that it would happen in October. So here we are again, third time lucky hopefully!
I am very proud to be joining the Royal Free Charity Marathon team. For those of you who’ve known me for any length of time, you’ll know that my friend, Lynne and I have been friends since primary school! She is the link and how I came to be running for the Royal Free Charity and specifically the Helping Hands fund. I’m so proud of the service and care that the team at the Royal Free have provided to families under their care.
I’ve heard first hand how this charity cares passionately for children with cancer and how the money raised helps to make the journey for families just a bit happier through days out, treats and extra touches. They provide the ‘Little Touches & Big Differences’ to make the experience a little more comfortable as well as providing cutting-edge treatment for the future.
Please give generously; you’ll be making a big difference to these families and the staff at the Royal Free and it’ll help me on the day, knowing that this very long run will go some way to help. you can read more about the fund here: https://royalfreecharity.org/do/patient-support/helping-hands/
Thank you!
