Brainathlon is a walk, run and climb relay challenge raising funds for three leading neurological research charities: Brain Research UK, Brain Tumour Research and Epilepsy Research UK.

Story

Laceys Solicitors LLP are taking part in the Brainathlon to raise money for Brain Research UK, Brain Tumour Research and Epilepsy Research UK in memory of Mia Hankins, who was Laceys Trainee Laura Hankins' niece.

On November 11th 2020 beautiful Mia, aged 6, was diagnosed suddenly with a brain tumour. She received an operation on the 20th November to remove it but despite the best efforts of the amazing staff at Southampton Hospital Mia stayed sleeping and passed away on the 21st November 2020.

Mia was able to prolong the lives of 3 others in need through organ donation, she was a caring and amazing young lady. She was and always will be a cherished daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. 💜

During the week of the 25th April we will all be walking 10 miles, running 15 miles and climbing 1.2 miles (2,500 steps) totaling 26.2 miles in order to raise money for these fantastic charities. The funds will be distributed equally to support research, improve outcomes and help people affected by neurological conditions.
