Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We decided we would like to raise some funds for the Children's Cancer Unit Charity after seeing what help they gave to our good friends' (Stephen & Grace Keys) little daughter, Ella.
Please read the following written by Grace, Ella's Mummy.
In July 2017, we received the news no parent wants to hear. Our beautiful Ella (just two years old) had been diagnosed with cancer in the form of a Wilm's tumour on her right kidney. We were devastated to receive such news yet comforted knowing that this was part of God's plan for us and that He would carry us through.
Ella initially commenced a seven week chemotherapy programme which successfully helped to shrink the tumor on her kidney. On the 18th September she then had surgery to remove the tumor and her right kidney. Ella's histology came back favorable and she embarked upon a 6 month programme of chemotherapy which is nearing an end!
Ella is an inspirational little girl who has demonstrated great courage through challenges she has had to contend with over the last few months. Her smile and character influences all that are privileged to know her.
We are much indebted to the amazing team at the Children's Oncology Unit at the RVCH and we can never fully convey our gratitude to them.
Ella's consultant (whom her face lights up for), the team of nurses, researchers and play therapists have all been amazing as they have shared the highs and lows of this journey with us. By making a donation to the Children's Cancer Unit Charity you help to support the many children like Ella battling cancer in Northern Ireland.
Thank you very much, Louise, Carla, Trudy, John & Christopher.
