Story
At the end of 2017 my father in law died suddenly from a heart attack leaving a huge hole in the lives of everyone he knew. This weekend, I will be running the Manchester 10KM in his memory.
Just 8 weeks ago I struggled to run for my train! I decided to do the NHS Couch to 5km to kick start getting fit and then got over excited and entered a 10km. In the last few weeks i have gone from running 3km to 7.5km and struggled with tendon problems in my left ankle and right knee. But why not make it a real challenge!? I am aiming to complete the 10km in under 1hr (we can all dream right!?).
If you can spare a few quid for this great cause I would be mighty appreciative and if you are in Manchester on the day give me a shout out (I'll need all the help I can get).
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
