Endometriosis, you sneaky little freak.
Here are some things that doctors told teenage me in the 6 years it took to get this diagnosis: “eat more salt”, “make a chart of how you are feeling every day 1-10 and you will see it get better over time”, “are you sure you’re not allergic to bananas”, and the eternal “j’accuse ANXIETY.”
5 surgeries, 43 doctors, 1 Daffy Duck alarm clock gifted by the hospital rabbi, 7,000 in-patient episodes of Chopped, 1 night sleeping in the ER hallway next to someone who just shot off their toe, and 10 years later here we are, able to run again.
Now that I am once more as fast as the lightning Josh Lucas harnesses into beautiful Alabama glass, I am raising money to help all women who are fighting this dastardly little incurable disease everyday.
