Story
As many of you may know, we lost my dad, Burton Wheeler way too early to cancer. We've also stood by friends, family, and members of our tribe as they have fought or are currently fighting their battles with this brutal disease. I want to do something to celebrate all the fighters out there, and raise some money to help all the future fighters.
I chose to up the miles from 10 to 20 because I know this is going to be hard. I want to feel the miles, so I can feel the people I'm swimming for. Please drop the names of your loved ones who have fought or are fighting cancer, and I will bring their spirit with me.
Week 1 Update:
First off, I’m humbled by all of you who showed up and donated your hard earned money to this cause. Your support means the world to me. Thank you. I am honored to carry the names and spirits of the people you lost to cancer with me during this swim, and together we put 7 miles behind us this week.
5/27 - 1.77
5/28 -1.89
5/30 - 1.62
5/31 - 1.74
I’m looking forward to more miles for week 2 and more time reflecting on just how lucky I am that I get to do this.
