Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For the last 13 years fitness has been my passion, I love it. There is no better feeling than working out, it's great for the body and for the mind - exercise can resolve a bad mood, lift your energy, and help you to make better eating decisions. Along with all the other associated health benefits. Perhaps you're thinking, well, how is completing a marathon a challenge for a fitness professional?!
A marathon is something new, something much harder than I ever expected, and a new challenge. A higher level of endurance is required to run over 3 - 4 hours, carbohydrates deplete, fatigue sets in, and hydration drops. That's when it gets really tough.
Someone helpfully told me "the half way point of a marathon is 20 miles". Safe to say, I won't learn if this is true until on the day.
If you can, please sponsor me to complete the 26.2 mile course in Manchester on Sunday 3rd April. If you are local to the area, it would be great to see you there too, supporters are always welcome.
But by making a donation to Mind, you will help to protect support for mental health in the UK. This service has received significant cuts over the last few years, and poor mental health is not something we can ignore.
Good physical health + good mental health = enjoyment of life!
