Story

Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

If you didn't know already, I've made it as a finalist for the upcoming Mr Gay England 2021 competition!! And part of the competition is to raise money for a SUPERB charity, The Charlie & Carter Foundation.

The Charlie & Carter Foundation (CCF) is a charity which provides financial support to families with seriously ill children that have life limiting conditions that require 24 hours nursing and care - www.charliecookson.org.uk

CCF aims to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by parents and carers who care for seriously ill children and campaigns to improve the quality of life of sick and seriously ill children, working with professionals to play an active part in the design and development of services to ensure the needs of parents, carers and children are heard and considered.

So, the question is - What can you do to help?

It's simple! All you need to do is donate what you can afford as every penny I raise will be donated directly to CCF to help support the fantastic work they are doing for those in need.

What part am I playing in this I hear you ask..?

Anyone that knows me will know how much charity work and raising awareness for children in need means to me. I was born with a deformed left hand which meant I had a lot of time away from friends and family in hospital having operations I lost track of counting. I have experienced first hand what it's like to need the help and support of others when you need it the most which is why being able to raise money for The Charlie & Carter Foundation is something very close to my heart and something I am privileged to be able to do as part of my Mr Gay England 2021 campaign.

Growing up being different was always a struggle which is one of the reasons entering Mr Gay England was something I was keen to do. Not only is this a platform for me to encourage myself to keep being me, it's also a platform to showcase that having a disability or being different to society is accepted and a normal part of life for those that may consider themselves to be 'different'. I want to be able to show that no matter how you appear on the outside, it's what you have within that truly matters and being able to be part of the Mr Gay family is truly an honour and I am so thrilled to be part of it.

This is allowing me to give myself and anyone else a voice who thought they were not good enough to 'fit in' and that regardless of disability, sexual orientation, skin colour & race, gender or size - We are all people who deserve to live our lives how we choose to live them and that there are no limitations to who and what you can do!

So that being said, I ask you to dig deep, give generously and make a difference to not only mine, not the children and families you will help support but yourself - Knowing that you have done a gesture that may be small to you, it is huge to those who need it.
