Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you will mostly know, Violet arrived rather early last year thanks to me having the same pregnancy complication I had with Hugo. Unfortunately it was even more severe and dangerous than i'd had previously and it was decided that Violet needed to be born at 32 weeks.
All of this was going on whilst the whole country was in the middle of a lockdown, Hugo was being home-schooled and life was generally pretty insane.
Into all this arrived a dinky little Violet and straight to Special Care she went. We knew this would be happening and it's pretty scary having multiple specialists coming to see you, often with with worrying information or even more terrifying consent forms, but from the moment we stepped onto the Special Care Baby unit we felt like we'd entered the calm in the storm. We were welcomed by Kate who would, along with many others, look after us and Violet for the next four weeks.
Owing to Covid things were not how they would be normally, Hugo wasn't able to meet his sister until she was discharged, but they did their best to keep things as normal as possible. There were always lots of smiles and pep talks, these were so needed. The ladies who work on this ward were absolute angels in PPE and kept us going through the biggest challenge we've faced.
As a family we feel so sad that we haven't been able to return and thank them, so this is our thank you. If you can help by donating anything at all we would be so grateful and I know they will be too.
