Story
After being spotted on TikTok doing a wee dance in my bedroom, I was offered the opportunity to take part in (A Little Less) Strictly Come Dancing to help raise funds for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow....
Having done a volunteering day at the hospice with my rugby club (Glasgow Raptors) and seeing first hand the amazing work that PPWH do to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of people with a life-limiting or terminal condition, I said YES!
Over the next few months, I will be at the mercy of my Scottish professional dancer, Maria Oakes to learn a dance routine which we'll then perform in front of hundreds of people at the Hilton Glasgow on Saturday 4th March 2023.
I've been told the show will also be recorded on the night so evidence of my performance will be available online to view afterwards!
Based on the top-ratings BBC Television show, the show is hosted by Carol Smillie and Bryan Burnett where eight former Scottish ballroom dance champions are partnered with contestants from the world of business to battle it out on the dance floor to be in with a chance of lifting the fabulous Glitter Ball Trophy. We are also joined on the night by BBC Strictly Pro Dancer guests who will entertain the audience with a spectacular show dance. The soundtrack to the evening is provided by the 18-piece Syd Lawrence Orchestra.
As part of my commitment to the hospice, I have pledged to raise a minimum of £3,000 in sponsorship to support PPWH's work in helping their patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them.
Thank you in advance for your donations - no matter how big or small, every contribution is going towards a very worthy cause.
