As many of you know, my darling hubby Kurt was diagnosed with Malignant Epithelioid Mesothelioma in October 2014. This dreadful cancer, caused by asbestos, is incurable.  Mesothelioma UK, helped Kurt to access further specialists in the field of Mesothelioma. He opted to have a radical operation in June 2015 to remove the linings of his lung, chest wall, pericardium and diaphragm.  This was an effort to remove as much of the cancer as possible and therefore, hopefully, buy him more time. Mesothelioma UK was a fountain of knowledge which helped us come to decisions about treatment options and always were on the other end of the phone when we needed advice or support...which we were so grateful for. Even though Kurt threw everything he could against this cruel disease he sadly lost his fight on 18/04/16.  

For those of us who knew Kurt whether as family, friend or work colleague, he was the life and soul of the party and someone that had a real zest for living every single moment to its entirety.  Kurt was one of a kind and his legacy will live on through his two beautiful daughters.
