Story
Despite us both being graced with the natural physique of athletic goddesses, running 10k this December will not be an easy feet (heh) for either of us. Although the wonders of biology and evolution have taught us how amazing, strong and versatile our bodies are, ours seem to have been built purely for the purpose of napping. It will truly be an awful and painful chore to acclimatise our legs to running when they are mainly used to reach things that are just annoyingly out of arms’ reach, or when we simply can’t be bothered to bend down. Rather we chose the idea to run for charity because Fi refuses to shave her hair off and I refuse to grow my moustache.
More importantly, we are choosing to run for MBBP because they work tirelessly in their Glasgow and London clinics, helping women who have experienced sexual violence to reclaim power of their lives, bodies and their choices. We believe survivors and we believe everybody’s body is their own. Obvs.
If you are in the (incredibly) fortunate position of not:
(a) needing these services; or
(b) having to do something unnatural and bizarre like, hurriedly rushing around a 10k route of London with lots of strangers and no particular desire or need to get anywhere quickly (running is so weird), for those in need of such services,
please, please, PLEASE, if you can, spare a couple of minutes and a few quid to those who are. We promise it will be massively appreciated by those in categories (a) and (b).
Thanks from the bottom of our (very nervous) hearts. Oh and please SPREAD THE LOVE AND SHARE THE LINK! 💪 ❤️
