Story
As some of you may or may not know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January this year and following various surgeries and radiotheraphy, have come a very long way since then. The tremendous support I have received from family, friends and the medical teams has been truly amazing and overwhelming. I count myself very very lucky for the bugger to be caught as early as it was as the diagnosis was just by fluke , I had no symptoms whatsoever.
It has certainly been a journey that I still find very hard to come to terms with, it all seems very surreal. Reality hits home every now and then and I do feel and say “why me”?!! But I am here and getting better and stronger each day and that is what counts. We have all been touched by someone who has suffered from this disease, therefore, I now need your help to find ways to support others that may find themselves or who have been in the same situation as me and/or still are going through their own ordeal.
I have met some incredibly brave and wonderful people during my visits to the hospital and oncology centre and they together with the medical team and Macmillan support, have inspired me to complete this humble race as an effort to raise some funds to help beat this awful disease and for them to continue what they do and trust me, they do it well. I have never felt I was in hospital or at a clinic, they treated me like a human being and not a patient. Therefore, your support and donation would be greatly appreciated.
