Here's what's happening: 

I got involved with a charity called Bristol Volunteers for Development Abroad BVDA who are a registered charity led by the students of Bristol University. It was started as a society eight years ago to encourage students to help developing countries by volunteering abroad, and most importantly, all the projects are intended to be sustainable long-term.

So in July I am heading to Nepal! I'll be there for seven weeks, staying with a family in a rural village near the town of Ilam with five other students. Our project is to help the local area by constructing and developing the nearby school as well as teaching the students there Maths and English. To sustain the project, each volunteer has to raise £700, which is where all you lovely people can help! None of this money goes towards personal costs (like flights or vaccinations) but it all goes directly to the project and local village (buying materials for the construction work for example).

As part of my fundraising, I'm doing a 26 mile walk on the 17th April in South Wales and it would be fantastic if you could donate something to help me achieve my target. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure and your details are safe. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
