London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 · 1 August 2021 ·
On Sunday 29th March 2020, our Helpdesk Manager Lee Collas will be joining #TeamShootingStar, taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon Challenge for Shooting Star Children's Hospice Charity.
The London Landmarks Half Marathon (21.1k) is a closed road, central London run and is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster.
Shooting Star supports 700 families across Surrey and London, who face truly unimaginable realities. They have two hospices; Shooting Star House in Hampton and Christopher’s in Guildford, where support is given to families from the point of diagnosis, to end of life; providing nursing, practical, emotional, medical and bereavement care.
The running costs are approximately £10 million a year (£27,000 a day) and approximately 10% of this is government-funded, meaning that they heavily rely on fundraising, generosity and public support to raise the difference to keep the services running.
