On Saturday the 28th of May 2022 I will be taking part in the Blenheim Palace Triathlon (my first ever - yikes!) to raise money for Ark Franklin Primary Academy, the state school both my kids attend. It's a truly wonderful school, but government funding only stretches so far and a bit of fundraising always helps to speed progress on priority initiatives.

Last year the team raised enough money to install air filters in each classroom; these are happily now in place, helping the kids breathe easier in our central London location. This year, the fundraising goal is to raise enough to replace the aging playground equipment across the school to ensure the 750+ kids have safe spaces where they can be active, take risks, increase strength and dexterity and build a love of being outside.

I am going to be participating in the Sprint Triathlon (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run), and must admit I’m a more than a little intimidated by the challenge! It's been a busy spring of training, including some new experiences (such as swimming in 11C/51F water...!). Please make my painful efforts all worth it by helping me reach my fundraising target; donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
