Story
What if you could run for a cause that has touched your life and the lives of many others? This February, I am running 100 miles to help the American Cancer Society fight for a world without cancer—a cause that is deeply meaningful to me.
As a registered nurse for over three decades, I've had the privilege of caring for pediatric patients in the PICU, assisting those diagnosed with cancer in the ER, and supporting individuals through surgeries and chemotherapy in the infusion department. My love for nursing comes from the connections I've built with these brave patients.
However, everything changed on March 21, 2024, when my 26-year-old daughter, Emily, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Being on the other side of patient care was incredibly challenging. Watching her go through chemotherapy, losing her hair, and being immune comprised was heart-wrenching. Yet, Emily faced every hurdle with courage and determination. I’m so grateful to share that her treatments are now complete, and she is thriving.
Now, I want to be proactive in raising awareness and supporting others in their battles against cancer. The American Cancer Society holds top ratings from Charity Navigator, the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance, and Candid, so you can give with confidence!
Please consider donating, as every little bit helps in the fight against cancer. Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for your support!
