The devastating impact on charities in the U.K. is one of the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic which is seldom recognised publicly. While our attention has – understandably – turned to our most immediate concerns, the incredible work done by so many charities across the country has suffered as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Experts predict that charities could lose out on nearly £4.3bn in a continued lockdown due to reductions in charitable donations and the cancellation or postponement of major fundraising events, most notably the London Marathon, which raised £66.4 million in 2019.

To do our part, on June 12th, Kings Park Rangers FC will run a combined 262km (making up for the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon not run) to raise money for The Trussell Trust.

By donating to our team run, you will be directly helping The Trussell Trust and its food banks, helping those who need it most. When you donate just £10, you provide an entire family of four with their evening meal.

Given this run is happening on a Friday — a night when many of you, under normal circumstances may have treated yourself to a couple of pints – why not donate the money you would have spent on this worthwhile cause?

Kings Park Rangers Football Club was restarted in its current form by a group of boys attending the same London school in 2016. Though we have now left school, we remain a tight-knit group of teammates, both on and off the pitch, and hope to channel our camaraderie into raising as much money as possible for a worthwhile cause.
