The Poetry Society is raising funds for the refurbishment of the Poetry Café in Covent Garden, a brilliant, much loved space in the heart of London. The works will update and improve access, increase the capacity, provide new heating and ventilation, and acoustically separate the basement venue from café on the ground floor.

I am delighted to have been offered a 10-minute slot, at 7:20pm on Saturday, 22 July, to read some of my poems as part of a Poem-a-thon aiming to raise funds for the Poetry Café. The poetry café has a special place in my heart as it is where I read a poem for the first time in public since I started writing poetry again in 2015.

The Poetry Society is close to reaching its fundraising target for completing the renovations, but need your help to reach the final 10% of the target. Any help will be gratefully received.

Thank you and do come to the Poem-a-thon. 60 poets will be reading, from 12pm to 10pm on Saturday, 22 July!
