Story

This Charity Hike is continued from last year as we were unable to go due to Covid-19 and the nation's lockdown restrictions. Many of you kind people have already donated so shouldn't feel an obligation to donate anymore. We promised you a year ago that we would go back out and do it as soon as we possibly could and here we are!

That said, we have had to make adjustments to our mountaineering challenge in order to fully comply with Scotland's Covid restrictions and make sure there is no risk of this being put off again! This challenge is undoubtedly harder than the one we were going to set-out on last year (much to Dan's excitement!). There is no Ben Nevis climb as the public path up it can become very busy with tourists(amateurs!). We're going off the beaten track to Knoydart, Britain's 'last true wilderness'.

As such, Knoydart is accessible only by foot or boat. We will be taking the foot passenger ferry from Mallaig to Inverie, then hiking approximately 8 miles over rough terrain into the wilderness to set up camp wild and deep in the Knoydart mountains. An early start the next morning will give us just enough time to climb Ladhar Bheinn, a mountain regarded as amongst the finest in Scotland. At over 3000ft in elevation, it has Munro status and poses a significant challenge, especially in inclement weather. From the summit of Ladhar Bheinn, we will be turning south and traversing the ridge and then descending back to Inverie. With any luck we will be in time for the day’s only ferry back to (relative) civilisation. If not, another night in the Scottish Wilderness it is!

We ask anybody who hasn't already donated to give what they can through this page. This has been a truly terrible year for so many people out there, in the Events Industry and beyond. We feel there's no better cause right now than Mind and the work they do helping people with mental health issues.

Konnect are kindly paying for the expenses and are donating the Konnect mini-bus to Dan, Jimmy and James to get themselves and all of their gear up to Inverie as smoothly as possible. We're setting out on this challenge at the crack of dawn on the 29th May and should be back to civilisation by the Monday at the latest.

We will of course do our best to keep people updated on socials, expect before and after shots/videos the week after. Wish us luck with the weather and thanks in advance x
