A Love Letter To Scotland For Charity

Over Hogmanay (New Years) 2011/2012 something wonderful happened. Actor Kevin McKidd organized a shindig to record an album of traditional Scottish folk tunes with a talented mix of friends. But this wasn't just any music session - the album would be quite personal for Kevin.

Inspired by his grandfather, Kevin wanted to capture the music of his homeland and do good in the process. A diverse cast of players and vocalists assembled including local budding musicians, phenomenal singers who’d never recorded their voice, and even jaded folk who thought they’d hung up their mandolins or bodhrán for good. All tracks were recorded 'old school’, as live performances in singular continuous takes.

THE SPEYSIDE SESSIONS album captures the magic and spontaneity of this week forever. All proceeds go to the international charity Save the Children to help children in need around the world. Please buy the album and T-shirt to show your support. The tunes are Scottish so that means everyone will love them!
