We offer expert care, guidance and support to people living with a terminal illness

Story

One challenge - to cycle between Lands End to John O'Groats.

One great team - 40 people (and they were all lovely)

Date completed - 8th August.

So far, we've raised £77,000 but that keeps going up!

Well, I have to say I'm very proud of myself. I've never undertaken a physical challenge before but I can honestly say it was very rewarding (and clearly excruiatating in places). I think all the training stood me in good stead. Never once did I think I'm not fit enough to do this... it's just your body that you're up against. Everyone had niggles and far from being sore bums it was generally to do with knees. My big issue was my left tendon which ached relentlessly from day five onwards. The Physio team told me that these sort of problems are purely down to the cumulative effects of cycling 100 miles per day for 10 days (the body just isn't expecting it!).

So all said and done, there's only one aspect of this whole challenge still rumbling on... and that's to try and collect in as much of the money that was pledged as possible. Just Giving is great as it's all done straight away but I set up an 'old school paper sponsorship form' too and I'm now remembering why this idea was superseded.

Thanks for all your support.
