The Westwood Academy will be joining Kenilworth School in the KMAT Lockdown Running Challenge.
Staff and students of The Westwood Academy will be lacing up their trainers and clocking up the miles from 1st - 14th March 2021.
Please support this whole school fundraising challenge by leaving a donation!
What will participants have to do?
Staff and students will set themselves their own running challenges to complete over the two weeks.
Examples of challenges:
- Going on your first 5km run/ 10km run.
- Running three times a week for two weeks.
- Completing a long-distance run during the two weeks.
- Completing 50km in two weeks.
- Completing 100km in two weeks.
Where will the money raised go?
All of the money raised from the challenge will go to NHS Charities Together, allowing them to continue supporting the NHS in these very challenging times.
This support includes:
- Providing counselling for doctors and nurses to help protect
their mental health and to help them process what they are dealing with. - Offering bereavement support for families who have lost loved ones.
- Providing hospitals with electronic tablets so patients with Coronavirus can keep in contact with loved ones.
- Supporting the long-term recovery of the NHS from the impact of the crisis.
