Story
Hi everyone!
As many of you are aware, I successfully swam the English Channel as part of a team of 9 UOSSWPC swimmers in 2021, in aid of Alzheimer's research. The swim was very successful in raising a considerable amount of money for the charity.
This year I will be setting off to swim the channel once again! This time, as part of a much smaller team of five...!
Come June, we are swimming for the amazing charity Aspire. Aspire are a London-based charity, who support the rehabilitation of those who have suffered spinal injuries. Having seen, through my studies, the impacts that these injuries have on a person's life, I feel that this is a brilliant opportunity to help.
But don't be fooled! This is not as easy as it may seem!
The English Channel is 21 miles across... and full of very, very cold water, strong currents, some pretty strange wildlife, and subject to high winds. The swim could take anywhere between 7 and 28 hours depending on the conditions.
Oh, and we aren't allowed a wetsuit...
I am very excited to be given the opportunity once again to be able to take on the English Channel, and to raise money for a fantastic cause.
I would be very appreciative of any donations, big or small.
Thank you for reading!
