Story
My grandmother and mother both suffered from Alzheimer's. My mother was diagnosed in 2014 and passed away in Bandon, County Cork, Ireland in August 2019. On 5th June I will be walking the 13 mile Trek26 in London, in memory of them both. Once my mother was diagnosed, my wonderful sisters Margaret and Kathleen cared for her until she had to go into a home. It was difficult for us all to watch someone we loved suffer from the illness, we are so grateful for the incredible care she received from my sisters and from the dedicated nurses and doctors. When suffering from Alzheimer's, patients often need round the clock care. Alzheimer's Society is a charity that funds research and provides care and support to patients and families affected by Alzheimer's. It is so important that those who suffer have the care and help they need and that research can continue so that we may one day find a cure. Please donate what you can to a cause that is very dear to me and my family. Thank you.
