Story
On October 2nd, I will be running the 2022 London Marathon for St John Ambulance.
As many of you will know, sport does not come naturally to me and I wouldn’t have ever imagined putting myself up for such a challenge. Sports day at school was my most dreaded event of the year, in close contention with cross country, where I always opted to take part in Javelin as it had the least spectators and required minimal effort. Running 42km in front of a huge crowd is therefore going to be a serious challenge so any donation would be massively appreciated and make it all the more worthwhile.
My grandmother has been involved with St John Ambulance for around 50 years, beginning with volunteering in Berkshire and later becoming their Chief President and so this is a fitting choice for me. St John Ambulance is primarily staffed by volunteers who teach and provide first aid and emergency medical services. During the pandemic they have helped the NHS to care for people and deliver vaccines, as well as now providing even more support by responding to 999 calls whilst the NHS are struggling. Their charity work relies entirely on donations so it will all be going to a great cause.
Thank you so much for the support!
